July looks like a very exciting month, with Essence launching these two wonderful limited editions, in this one, I shall be snapping up the blush soufflé...just because it sounds yummy :-)

 Going though my favourite Joy magazine, I spotted a picture of a Chanel "Lèvres Scillantes", which at first glance I mistook for my very own Revlon lustrous lip gloss...I love a good dupe :-) Upon closer inspection, I do notice the difference, but the truth of the matter is, Revlon has packed these lipglosses in a lovely, luxurious way.

iU skincare/wellbeing shops in Brussels

I can not come up with any explanation as to why I was ignoring these shops up until now, but I have a feeling it is going to change soon :-). There are 5 iU magasins in Brussels (and 23 overall in Belgium), pretty much at every big shopping center - Basilix, City 2, Woluwe shopping, Westland shopping, Galerie Louise.

They are selling primarily pharmaceutical cosmetics, which sounds great (until you read a book by Paula Begoun), but you will find here many of the well-established skin-care brands, with a nice and informed personnel:

Revlon ColourBurst lipstick Peach

Not only was I taken by the beauty of the Coral Reef lipgloss, but I also succumbed to the temptation of Revlon's ColourBurst lipstick in Peach, 075. Given that I really like my other two Revlon lipsticks, the decision was pretty easy, with the upcoming summer season, a peachy-coral lipstick looked like just the right choice :-).

The lipstick has no smell (good news after Rimmel's airy fairy) and has a creamy texture which feels light on the lips. The formula is non-drying (at least on me), but then, this is not a super a long-lasting lipstick. The colour is soft, with good pigmentation and extremely wearable for everyone, definitely a good investment.

 

Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss in Coral Reef

Now, this lipgloss was apparently released already last year for the summer period, hence the lovely coral colour. The minute I saw it, I fell in love with it and had to buy it, it just looked so pretty! :-) I swatched it already at Galeria INNO and it was by far the most pigmented variation. It cost 9,95 EUR. 5,9 ml, SPF 15.

Apart from wonderful pigmentation, the gloss is not sticky and it feels pleasant on the lips. The applicator is a standard, slightly angled, sponge-tip.

Neutrogena Visibly clear SOS cleansing cure

This products promises a visibly clearer skin just in 7 days, presumably removing your blackheads in three different ways: as a cleaning gel, as peeling or as a mask.

• as a washing gel, it cleanses the pores without drying the skin and prevents blackheads
• as peeling, it removes excess skin cells, prevents pore clogging and helps to eliminate existing blackheads
• acts as a mask deep into the skin to remove impurities and mattify the skin

 

Now that I have read (see previous post on Paula Begoun) so much about how blackheads are created and that it is virtually impossible to get rid of them thoroughly, I at least do not have unrealistic expectations as to what this can do for my skin.

It contains salicylic acid, so I am doing some exfoliation here :-). Texture is grainy and rather harsh to the skin, so unless you have a thick oily complexion, don't even consider it. I am, however, happy how it removes my makeup (and Revlon's ColourStay is famously difficult to take off...).
