Essence Fix & Matte Translucent powder

One of the few things that my makeup collection was missing was a translucent powder. I got this one in Kruidvat in Breda, Holland on a special deal, 35 % off together with Essence blotting papers with 3,50 EUR (0,54 oz, 15,5g). It is supposed to absorb any excess oils on your face, to set your makeup and to provide you a no shine look all day.

I have to say it works better for me than the usual powder, but my skin is very oily, so I suppose it takes the likes of mattifying powder to tame the pores down...I definitely recommend trying this product.

Essence I love stage - eyeshadow base

The one thing you should have in your makeup collection is an eyeshadow base. 2,49 EUR, Kruidvat, 4 ml or 0.13 fl. oz. Essence says that it can either be used as a base for concealer or eyeshadow. the creamy texture won’t settle in the crease of your eyelid - it makes every eyeshadow last longer and intensifies the color. I tested it when I went biking, it kept the eyeshadows beautifully and guess what, it also survived the ultimate test, an all day office wear.
The reason I bought this base is its light beige colour, as my favourite HEMA eyeshadow base leaves a slightly white shimmery trace (great for shimmery eye looks). This base is fantastic as it actually helps conceal any discoloration in your eye lids. Worth snapping up!

Essence lipstick in 53 All about cupcake

A bubble gum smell, a low price and a moisturizing texture - you get all of these in buying an Essence lipstick. I was really well imressed by its performance and how light it feels on the lips, almost as a lip balm.

Essence blush brush

It was the hot pink colour of the fibers that made me buy this brush, plus I did not own a slanted flat blush brush - but then, any excuse is good enough for me to get something new :-), it costs 1,99 EUR. The fibers are obviously synthetic and rather stiff (but flexible enough) and I find that they do not pick up the powder blush too much (I used Catrice multi colour blush), not a lot at all, actually. Which might be a good thing, especially if you tend to place too much blush on your cheeks.

The slanted flat head makes the application fast - a one-sweep-motion and you are done. That means that blending your blush will not be so easy as the fibers glide on the skin without really working the product into the makeup. So I still prefer my Essence of beauty blush brush (of the travel kit) and Sigma blush brush and I do not see that changing any time soon. 'Nuff said! (still very cute colour, though)

Essence ballerina backstage eye souffés - a closer look

I scored a hat-trick with eye souffés and my collection is now complete: 01 dance the swan lake (amazing white matte base), 02 pas des copper (beautiful shimmery warm brown) and 03 grand plié in black (lovely black matte base).

Essence colour & go nail polish in 64 be optimistic!

The autumn/winter fashion has brought us a lot of retro style and hence the rusty orange shimmer nail polish to go with your wardrobe :-)

Essence colour & go nail polish in 78 blue addicted

Essence is blowing my mind every time with their nail polish collection and here is the recent addition, no 78 blue addicted. It has both shimmer and glitter and it is just so dreamy, like the starry night...romantic, hey :-). DM, 1,25 EUR, 5 ml. I applied at first two coats, but it only shows up nicely with at least 3.

Two coats and the flash shows how see-through the polish is.

Essence ballerina backstage eye sufflé

Bought these in Wijnegem shopping center, Kruidvat, they were already putting it on sale (2,79 EUR each), as this edition is over...has it ever reached Brussels...These eye sufflés serve as either eyeshadows on their own or you can use to as a base. Especially the white one seems to have a huge following, I only tried it once so far, over a Hema eyeshadow base and it was indeed working wonders with the colour of the eyeshadow. If you see them, grab them!

Essence all eyes on me mascara in 03 deep purple

This mascara promises to give you extra volume, length, curl, thickness and separation. That is a lot, honestly, to ask of any mascara, but if you are looking for a reliable, reasonably well-performing tool, this will be your thing. 8 ml. It washes out beautifully just with water. It was under 4 EUR, Kruidvat.

Essence Colour and go nail polishes

32 gold rush on the ring finger and 34 walk of fame for the rest
And with p2 crack ling top coats in gold and black colours.

Essence stay with me lipglosses

These lipglosses are high on pigmentation, with a pleasant smell, they feel super on the lips and are so cheap - this is a steal, I absolutely recommend buying them. The sponge applicator is just too cute :-).

Well, I did not really like this nail polish the first time round, I can not say I like it any better now, I applied a nice thick layer on, but no real cracking happened...
