Essence ballerina backstage eye sufflé

Bought these in Wijnegem shopping center, Kruidvat, they were already putting it on sale (2,79 EUR each), as this edition is over...has it ever reached Brussels...These eye sufflés serve as either eyeshadows on their own or you can use to as a base. Especially the white one seems to have a huge following, I only tried it once so far, over a Hema eyeshadow base and it was indeed working wonders with the colour of the eyeshadow. If you see them, grab them!

E88 palette by Boozyshop

This palette cost 18,95 EUR, it contains 88 eyeshadows and you can order it at www.boozyshop.nl. (kindly provided for blogging purposes by Jana).:-)

Though the pigmentation is supposed to be high in each colour, it is not the case. The crosses mean a fail, the bullets are thumbs up!
The palette was carefully protected in a box.

A nice mix of matte and shimmer eyeshadows.
72:15 - the pigmentation score
The weakest link seems to be the brown corner.
On the other hand, the shimmery pigments have gorgeous pay-off.

New Sigma eyeshadow palettes

Sigma has launched three brand new eyeshadow palettes (an inpiration by Urban Decay Naked Palette is undeniable) called: Dare, Bear and Flare. They look great and you get a double-sided brush with each. The price is 35 USD per palette. Which one is your favourite?

Rival de loop matte eyeshadow in 06 aubergine

Yet another Aachen acquisition, a matte eyeshadow from Rossmann drogerie, 1,99 EUR, no indicate about the weight.
While it seemed a good choice in the shop, given its nice colour pay-off, once you put it on, it applies very sheer and is virtually impossible to build up. I would not repurchase this item.

p2 matte dream eyeshadows

You can never have enough of matte eyeshadows, or at least that is what I like to think :-). I bought these at DM (1,55 EUR each) in Aachen. If you are looking for matte eyeshadows in Belgium, try Catrice or Revlon.
It does not say on the packaging how much the products weights, strange. The colours are 070 grey pleasure, 060 lilac attraction, 030 grey style. I was pleasantly surprised about almost no fall-out and quite nice pigmentation, especially considering the low price.
The eyeshadow contain green tea extract and are indeed long-lasting. Definitely worth buying!

Urban Decay Naked Palette swatches

Virgin, sin, naked, sidecar, buck, half baked, smog, darkhorse, toasted, hustle, creep, gunmetal

This palette is simply phenomenal in how it combines cool and warm/shimmery and matte shadows. Generally, they have a strong colour pay off (which was a bit difficult to capture with a camera and a flashlight on), but I was a bit surprised to see a bit of a fall out when applying them, but hey, nobody is THAT perfect. :-) I know it is a long way until Christmas, but this makes a super gift to any woman.

Catrice Absolute Eye Colour 010 The Seasons's Must Have

It is not easy to be standing in front of the Catrice cosmetics counter and to choose from the huge variety products on offer, you just completely crave for all of them, or at least I do. I was the same with this eye quad. It is a perfect balance between matte and shimmery colours, the rich plum, the steely silver, the minty green and the capuccino colours are simply stunning! They are silky smooth and easily applied over the eyelid in any combination imaginable. Here are my swatches:
The left side is swatched on a white base (Berange Paris)

Actually, trying to shoot a picture of the swatches, I realized that the strongest payoff comes from the top left plummy colour, it is also the the most reliable one for your crease. The second place, as far as pigmentation goes, is the bottom left capuccino colour. The rest you will find a bit difficult building up. Overall, it is a cute little quad, relatively cheap and I am sure, it will be fun in the summer months:-)

Catrice - Urban baroque swatches

Matte eyeshadows are a must in any makeup collection, go for matte for a soft sophisticated day look, to gently contour your eyes, on an aging skin. Catrice offeres a wide variety of both, shimmer and matte eyeshadow and I recently picked up (on sale) a limited edition - Urban baroque, sweet pastel colours. Here are my swatches, bottom row is applied on a white base (Berange Paris - blanc):
C01 Candelabra and C02 Feather Fan

Urban Decay NAKED PALETTE

A huge surprise on Good Friday! I was sitting on the plane from Brussels to Bratislava (Ryanair) and I did not even check their offer (why would I...), when the air stewardess passed me by with a trolley, loaded with the ONE and ONLY, the BEAUTIFUL, the FANTASTIC, the ORIGINAL, the LEGENDARY NAKED PALETTE!!! I could not believe my luck! When I was trying to buy it in January in New York, all Sephora shops said the same thing - hopelessly sold out...so, of course I bought it, it cost 35 EUR. Ryanair has updated their sky shopping also with L'Oreal Studio Secrets smoothing resurfacing primer, 2x15 ml for 15 EUR, if I remember correctly...wow to Ryanair!

I know there have been volumes and volumes written about this object of desire for so many beauty addicts, but...It contains 12 shades (matte, shimmer, satin and sparkle), a cruelty free brush, and of course yet another legendary Urban Decay product - Eyeshadow primer potion (3,7 ml)- heaven!  :-)
I still have not tried it, so far I have been just admiring it (I have been longing for it for such a long time!), it is absolutely perfectly packed, so elegant...People on the plane thought I was buying a box of chocolate :-)
Shades: virgin, sin, naked, sidecar, buck, half baked, smog, darkhorse, toasted, hustle, creep, gunmetal

Catrice make-up product highlights

Right packaging sells, we all know that and for some reason, Catrice manages to catch my eye every time. Here are pictures of my favourite products that I either own already or will buy in the near future (hopefully).

Catrice cosmetics alert

I am starting to form a certain theory: the further away you get from Brussels, the better of choice of cosmetics you get. I mean, I went to Dinant today (gorgeous weather, super town) and of course I popped into the local Kruidvat.

Imagine my excitement when I found shelves and shelves fully stocked with Essence, Rimmel, Gosh and a relative newbie to me: Catrice cosmetics. Especially the last one made my eyes run with water: lash growth serum, black and brown gel eyeliners, bent eyeliner brush, amazing eyeshadow quads, excellent choice of matte eyeshadows, nail varnish in any hip variation (nude, urban) - everything beautifully packaged. In fact, their see-through, plasticky packiging is nothing short of sexy, I was grabbing everything left and right! And the biggest bonus of course is a budget-friendly price!

Metal Mania palette review

It is only me, or this Metal Mania palette is the same as Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania? Mine is marketed as a Boozyshop product. Not that it matters, as the palette is simply beautiful! I was a bit (pleasantly) surprised about its compact size (23 cm x 16,5 cm x 1 cm). It arrived exquisitely protected by a number of boxes and plastic bubble wrap. It costs 18,95 EUR.
The colours are really well pigmented with a shimmery finish. They transfer well on the eyelid without much fallout. The palette is a super gift for anyone who is crazy about eye makeup. The colour combinations are endless enabling you to go for a subtle natural look or an evening smokey eye. I am enclosing links to sites with swatches, as this has been done really well already by other people.
