Catrice cosmetics alert

I am starting to form a certain theory: the further away you get from Brussels, the better of choice of cosmetics you get. I mean, I went to Dinant today (gorgeous weather, super town) and of course I popped into the local Kruidvat.

Imagine my excitement when I found shelves and shelves fully stocked with Essence, Rimmel, Gosh and a relative newbie to me: Catrice cosmetics. Especially the last one made my eyes run with water: lash growth serum, black and brown gel eyeliners, bent eyeliner brush, amazing eyeshadow quads, excellent choice of matte eyeshadows, nail varnish in any hip variation (nude, urban) - everything beautifully packaged. In fact, their see-through, plasticky packiging is nothing short of sexy, I was grabbing everything left and right! And the biggest bonus of course is a budget-friendly price!

Wishlist - Sigma synthetic face kit

I have heard only absolutely raving reports about this kit, and trust me, I have seen hundreads of YouTube videos, all saying the same thing: a wonderful brush set. Though I already have a nice collection of brushes (guilty!), one day I will order them all :-) Boozyshop is actually kind enough to have these on offer for 45,95 EUR, together with Beautybyelke for 45 EUR...(the original US price is 42 USD, however, with the packaging charges, it works out cheaper to buy them via European sites.)

The kit contains three super dense face brushes - flat top kabuki, round top kabuki and angled top kabuki.
Sigma:
Introducing the new Sigmax brush line for high definition, flawless makeup application. The brushes in this collection feature exclusive Sigmax filament, specially designed to apply powder and liquid products without absorption into the fibers. The shape, density and height of the filaments were carefully engineered to perfectly buff products onto the skin, resulting in a high definition effect.

Orange nail polishes

I came across some of my older polishes and because orange is such a lovely spring colour, here is a swatch for an inspiration:

Left: Hema NEON in 73, middle DaVinci Vollare, right Essence What do you think? 22:
(2 coats each) and also with Claire's crackle nail polish.

Essence matt top coat review

Even though I bought it a long time ago, and if I remember correctly, it was around 2 EUR, I only fished it out tonight. I simply could not imagine what could be all that appealing about matt nail polish finish, but now that I have tried it, I kind of like it!

This is Dermacol Preference in no 1 swatch:
And here it is after mattifying top coat layer:
Gives a perfect matt finish applied on any nail polish, 8 ml.
The matt top coat dried really quickly and it delivered what it promised to 100 per cent. The varnish itself has a creamy white texture. The handle is nice and short and allows for precise application. Love it!

Claire's crackle polish pictures

It has been such a lovely day today that it inspired me for a colourful test of Claire's crackle polish and here are the results (the more I test it, the more I like it). My personal favourites are combinations with silver base, any neon colour and violet.

Liquid eyeliners

I started using liquid eyeliners already at high school, as that was the fashion back then and all I remember is how difficult it was to apply them. Nothing has changed to this day in this regard, at least not for me :-). My hand is still shaky and so is the result.

Currently, I have two cheapo liquid eyeliners: 2B cosmetics 01 black, waterproof (Di) and Dermacol, glamour eyes, glittery black (DM Slovakia).

The one by 2B has strong pigmentation but an uncomfortably long handle, which makes perfect application almost impossible...plus the staying power is low, so I would not recommend buying this.

Dermacol one has a good short, workable handle and the glitter is a nice perk :-) It is nevertheless quite difficult to work with, it dries quickly so you have only a limited time to get it right. But then, I am spoilt by gel eyeliners :-). What is your experience with liquid eyeliners?
